careful - purely decorative and pleasing to the eye, but scratches easily and is not practical

Bought to hold a crystal decanter with glasses. However, this record is not quite what it appears to be. The surface gets scratched from day one if you put anything on it and it shows. I thought that for such money it would not be scratched, but I was wrong. Looks nice, but is impractical for storage, so purely a decorative item.
