Very safe travel bag with many pockets. The basic zipper mechanism takes a bit of getting used to on a standard backpack, but for the security it offers it's a very small compromise. The internal laptop sleeve fits my 14.1 inch Dell ultrabook for work perfectly, making it perfect for work. There are two inner pockets that can hold a small battery (maximum 3.5" x 1.5") or a water bottle. The main compartment inside is smaller than I would have imagined based on the look of the bag, however it is part of a security design where the back panel and zip are recessed into the bag so it can only be accessed when it is not closed . However, inside there is still enough room for my Canon 5D Mark IV with 70-300 zoom, hot shoe, external hard drive and a pocket poncho and other gear (I wouldn't use this as a camera bag, just using this as a sizing guide) as for travel As far as I'm concerned, this bag will be my "personal item", but I still need another garment bag if I'm going to be out for more than a day.
