I really liked them when I first got them. In fact, this was my second purchase of this charger. Today I discovered a serious security risk. There is no short circuit protection and no design to prevent this. Essentially, the letter opener was attracted to the tip of the charger when it was plugged in. It stuck for hours. It got hot enough to melt the plastic in the charging cable. If he was near flammable material, things could end badly. There are 3 things you can do to make it more secure: 1. Put a short detection/protection2. The deepening of the contacts and the corresponding expansion of the rings on the phone adapter. This will prevent the contacts from shorting out when a piece of metal is attached to the tip.3. Install an overheat protector to prevent a short circuit from melting the tip and igniting nearby material. In the meantime. BE VERY CAREFUL what is around the tip that does not charge the phone.
