I have the 4 tier shelving option in Rubbermaid's Storage Options. This is a 4 tier wire shelf. The shelves are NOT adjustable, the distance between them varies slightly: Between 1st and 2nd shelves: 11.5 inches, Between 2nd and 3rd shelves: 12.5 inches, Between 3rd and 4th shelves: 11, The 5 inch build of this shelf was one of the more frustrating build experiences I've had lately. It took me 45 minutes to assemble! I'm used to packing, it's so awkward and annoying - I really expected an easier experience from Rubbermaid. The screws are tiny. You will need a Phillips screwdriver to assemble the stand. The four leg pieces fit into the curved tops to form the sides of the device, but they don't sit flush with each other, so you'll need to keep the top and leg in the perfect spot by pressing tiny screws in place. It helps to have a second person to help keep the parts where you need them. Shelves are also a hassle to build in. The edges of the shelves have curved brackets that match the sides, but they didn't always fit exactly, so I had to squeeze them while trying to get the screws in. I was so excited I was ready to throw the rack away. out the door. The finished product is just ok. Again, I expect more from Rubbermaid. It's so light I can lift it with two fingers. I wouldn't call it super strong. I can't figure out how much weight the shelf can hold. Neither the instructions nor the description indicate the weight each shelf can support, or even how much the entire unit can support.
