Review on πŸ’‘ Enhanced D2S Xenon Car Headlight Bulbs - OSRAM Xenarc Cool Blue Boost (Twin Pack) 66240CBB-HCB by Brian Wolf

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The only choice for Morimoto D2S 5.0 projectors.

I can't believe I just spent $120 on HID lights at this point in my life. By now I should have switched to LED projectors when upgrading my headlights, but since they turned out to suck, I went back to HID for my upgrade. They were recommended as they are cool enough to still see white light through my Morimoto Mini D2S 5.0 projectors, which are "hindered" by the anti-reflective coating on their lenses. I love these bulbs, although I shudder at the thought of replacing them in a few years. But HID bulbs always last longer than you think, and for the price (even with a huge discount at other parts stores) and the brand, they should last 4-5 years with normal use. I'll let you know if anything else happens and see if I can get a decent output shot too to try and mimic the color. As for colour: I measure it through the anti-reflective coating on these projectors I've bought and although the output is eventually white it's closer to 5000K (natural white with a slight yellow cast when viewed from certain angles but not color LED Lamps that are much more like 6000K and a little violet white) through these lenses. I'm sure they'll definitely be on the colder side of the spectrum with a different type of clear lens, especially considering how much AR lenses heat up color on HID lights. But overall I'm happy with the performance of the lenses. these bulbs, not really happy with the fact that I bought new ballasts for these bulbs and spent close to $400 on retrofits. But if you have a clear lens projector you could probably get by with OSRAM CBI rather than these lamps and get the same color rendering I get with it. Later I will talk about my experiences with these lamps. Give them a chance! Update: I added a picture of the dark street to give you an idea. The color rendition in this shot isn't perfect, but you get an idea of how these lamps work in D2S 5.0 projectors.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
