On the second pull, the webbing began to fray where the buckle was under stress. I had braided leather belts for years before they started wearing them like that, but I was stuffed with belts that looked like leather but didn't last and didn't last. I was specifically looking for a "leather" belt. The first line of Revane's description reads "100% leather". It looked like the color I needed so I bought it. It looked/felt like leather so I packed it for a week's vacation. When it showed signs of wear after wearing it a second time, I took a closer look. Inside the tongue (where the buckle is attached) is printed "LEATHERZunge" and "GUIDE LACE" in small print. That's about 3 inches of leather on 39 inches of plastic trash.
