2006 Hyundai Sonata GLS All four doors I have replaced all four 12 year old OEM speakers with these Sony XSR1646 quad speakers. Installation was straightforward, requiring minor modifications to both the speaker bracket and Hyundai mounting hardware. Total assembly time: 30 minutes per door. It's worth noting that the woofers on these XSR1646 speakers are ONLY 4.5 inches in diameter! (The "speaker size specification" for the XSR1646 is 6-1/2 inches; however, this value is the diagonal distance between the mounting holes in the speaker frame - a common marketing ploy of all car speaker manufacturers.) The wiser shouldn't expect it There is a lot of air movement from such small speakers. Of course, in my opinion, the acoustic quality of these speakers is only a slight improvement over the decades-old OEM paper speakers they replaced. The following comment applies to ALL car speaker installations: The best way to determine speaker size for your car is to first measure the speaker holes in your car doors. various speakers that interest you. As a general rule of thumb, car speakers should be 1/4 inch larger than the speaker size listed for your vehicle make/model/year. This method provides a wider range of speaker options to consider.
