First of all, I love blue. It is very sweet. Lots of compliments on the looks. It's heavier than my other cameras, so getting used to it was a bit more difficult. It comes with a choker but after a while it gets uncomfortable so I usually wear it with a lanyard wrapped around my wrist so I don't drop it. So far this has worked well. Performance: Takes great close-up shots. Very clear and precise. I have the settings set to max (16MP "star", bright color). The 26x zoom is also a nice feature. I can get "closer" to the subject with 10x zoom than with my old Nikon. Very easy to use once you get used to it. There are many "preset" options available. The menu appears quickly, without much delay. And I was able to take better pictures than I used to (with my other cameras), so that's a big plus. For point-and-shoot mode, that's pretty good. The downsides I've noticed so far are that the scene selector has a lot of different settings for different situations, which is a good thing. "Indoor party" is not good, however. I want to use something else. A few moments were lost that I will never get back. Tip: Practice with some of the other settings BEFORE that big event. Also, it doesn't take pictures as quickly as I was hoping (although much faster than my other camera). It has a quick succession setting, BSS, which I like, but it just doesn't live up to my expectations. Combat footage is blurry. To be honest, I haven't experimented with the sport settings in the scene selector, so this might be my "minus". Conclusion: I like this camera. He has a lot to offer. Good stable performance for point and shoot. Accessible. I recommend using rechargeable batteries. Take spare parts with you. It has a battery symbol on it, but don't believe it. It goes from a full charge to an "empty battery" in one fell swoop. I think with practice this camera can actually take some good shots. There are plenty of settings to play with including white balance and ISO settings if you want to move away from manual settings. If not, Smart Scene and Select a Scene have plenty of "preset" options to choose from. All in all, while not thrilled, I'm not unhappy and genuinely interested in making this camera work for me.
