Review on πŸ”§ ACDelco Professional 15-10673 Engine Coolant Water Outlet: Optimal Cooling Performance and Durability by Phil Kowal

Cast aluminum water drain

This housing differs from the factory sale and the picture. Sheet metal factory with front tongue. This ACDelco case has no front protrusion and is 3/8" thick at the screw holes and is also made of die-cast aluminum. The factory case is tilted towards the heatsink and this is how I installed the ACdelco case. I had to use 1 1/4 inch. 5/16 screws instead of the factory 1" 5/16 screws as Delco is 1/4" thicker than the factory 1/8" thin sheet metal case. The pre-sold case looked exactly like the ACDelco and is on both Stamped 5175. The body is completely flat on the underside. I suspect the aftermarket switched to 3/8" thick aluminum on a base over sheet metal because the Magnum V-8 thermostat housing is known to leak. My drip, so a new case instead of a warped factory case. My 99th 5.9 liter Dakota C/CR/T has clocked up 50,000 miles.
