My cat really liked this tree until this morning. While playing with the pom pom toy she would wrap herself around her tail and as she jumped to run away she ended up hanging upside down by her cute little striped tail. I assure you, that doesn't make the cat happy. While my normally cute cat was turned into a screeching, snarling, clawed spawn of Satan as she staggered on death's sinister rubber band, I tried to save the poor thing and ended up getting plenty of bites and scratches. Luckily my husband is a paramedic and an experienced emergency doctor who was able to patch me up again. So the moral of the story is, if you don't want scars and gut-ripping antibiotics, cut the damn thread! Or don't install it. Cat tail is ok. I used brute force to rip the elastic in half while she butchered my calf and peed all over it. She literally wet her pants, she was so scared. Hours later, she emerged from under the bed and apparently drove away the demons possessed during that traumatic event.
