Looks good, design flaw allowed water damage to wiring

Shortly after the warranty expired I noticed the section on one of these was not lit. I contacted the seller hoping to at least buy a replacement but they wouldn't let me. They would only offer to sell me another complete set. But that's not the worst. Less than a year after installing it (because I decided to keep them even though one of them didn't light up), I noticed that the other side was completely missing. I took it off and found that the pigtail of the wiring was completely rusted. I checked the same thing again. The original auto pigtail socket attaches INSIDE the original lens barrel (where the bulb fits into the lens) and protects it from water ingress. But these LED assemblies have their own pigtail dangling from the OUTSIDE of the body (so it can be plugged into the car's pigtail socket), making their wiring (and therefore the car's pigtail socket) water-accessible. I cleaned the frames as best I could and put my stock lenses and bulbs back in. I really wanted them to like it. I liked the look but I regret the purchase. Hopefully the manufacturer can redesign the housing to house the wiring/connector so it connects in the same way as the OEM lens. This is the only way to prevent water from getting onto the wiring and damaging it. Until then, I can only recommend not doing so. (And if they fix that design flaw, I'll be the first to buy a new set.)
