Review on πŸ”¦ LED Recess Mount Starr Light with Stainless Steel Trim - Enhanced for SEO by Brent Borseth

There are definitely better options for your bait tank

Due to the large 1.25" diameter hole already drilled I had to purchase one of these as a direct replacement for my tank (this is the original for Everglades 243 2012. year) ...this first one actually failed because the original factory install was done with no rubber gasket (used 4200, over tightened and snapped) Since my headlights are plugged in when the pump is running I installed another, smaller lamp (Lumitec Newt), which is on when my secondary circulating pump is running (2 pumps, 2 lights. This allowed me to do a side by side comparison in the same 36 gallon tank. I of course only used a spacer and some 4200's, no stainless steel trim ring (which, like I assume it's included if you use it as a backlight) I was shocked to find out that the one-chip Newt ($7) is actually brighter than this three-chip Starlight ($16). Other reviews say it wasn't as bright as expected, I agree. Bottom line: this might be fine for a low voltage top light, but if you want to light up your bait tank (and don't want to drill such a big hole) there are better options!
