Review on πŸš— GRACO Nautilus 65 LX 3-in-1 Harness Booster Car Seat, Conley: Ultimate Safety and Comfort for Your Child by Michael Cox

Talk about growing with them.

When I was in a car accident with my 7 year old daughter (now 8) I had to replace her car seat. There was never a doubt that I would replace it with the one I already had, the Graco Nautilus 65 LX. We've had this car seat model since it was big enough to go from a convertible car seat and we LOVE it. I'm a car seat safety nut and I follow all of Graco's recommendations on when to move on to the next step. Pros: 1. It really grows with them - she came a little early to backless boosters but doesn't mind a high back. In fact, she's missing it now because she says she has nowhere to lean on right now. And with us she was initially in a team, which didn't bother her. It's also valid for 10 years, which means my youngest daughter can use it too. Note 2. Installation - Like every other car seat you've seen or owned, this one is pretty much the same. Not easy, but not difficult either. If you've done it with a convertible car seat or any other Graco vehicle, you've got this.3. Cleaning - It's actually very easy to clean and will hold up to multiple washes (but takes a long time to dry in my opinion)4. Comfort - My daughter has ridden other high back boosters and hated their discomfort. And she LOVES the cup holder and seat (except she keeps nasty junk in there, so hopefully your kid is cleaner than mine!) Cons: 1. The belt positioning clip was a joke at best. She could (technically) get rid of the highback sooner because of her height and weight, but she really couldn't because the seatbelt is in my car. We tried a belt positioning clip but it didn't work. It didn't really matter because the highback held it in place so we just left it on longer.2. Adjusting the base buckle is a TOTAL pain, but since you don't have to do it that often, it's not a deal breaker. Just get your whole swearing ready and take a few deep breaths. But I mean get ready. It really is as bad as all the reviews say. Overall I really like this seat. I love that I wouldn't have to buy another one if I hadn't been in a car accident. I should also note that this car seat performed VERY well in an accident. The other driver's impact was on the same side as that car seat and my daughter had minimal injuries (at the time she was using a highback with a regular seat belt and weighed 72 pounds), while as a driver I am much worse off in my usual seat. Good job Graco.
