It looks great next to my sink and I like the idea of using fewer sponges. However, the brush feels odd in my hand and is difficult to tilt towards certain dishes, especially when you need to coat baked foods. In any case, I pull out my sponge fairly regularly. Hard brushes can also throw back food while washing. I think it would be better to get the one with the longer handle, although it wouldn't look as cute as this brush in its little mug. Speaking of the small plate, I poured both soap and water into it and there were no bubbles. Maybe too diluted. I saw another poster that said just use soap so I'll give that a try. Either way, I think it's more aesthetic than functional, but that's just my experience. Incidentally, I saw something very similar at a discount hardware store for about half the price. So if you're keen and have access to one of these stores, it might be worth checking out!
