Yes, if you have USB A 2.0 or 3.0 or any other variant of HDMI it will not work. I've tried all kinds of adapters, from Displayport to USB-C and from HDMI to USB-C, you name it. None of them work, the only thing that pops up when using USB-A is an external USB drive calling the device a "billboard", this is very inconvenient for anything other than USB-C. I'm keeping the product as I have a lot of laptops and phones that use USB-C, but I was hoping to use it for desktops as well, so don't buy it if your device doesn't have USB-C to USB. C adapter.
