Better than pen flashlight! They're heavy and no matter how hard I tried or what style I bought, it always ended up dead in my pocket from accidentally turning it on. This tiny little ultra light keychain is BRIGHT! I just clipped it to my badge roll so I always have it with me and it's so light I don't even realize it's there. It does NOT turn on randomly because you have to squeeze it, and it's very bright, but it has a focused beam. I find PERRLA easy to use even in brightly lit rooms, and in dark rooms it shines very far to check on resting patients. I love that it was a multi pack because I put one on my regular keychain and put a few extras in my locker in case this finally dies or if it gets dirty and can't be cleaned. Finally, it actually has a little tiny switch you can slide over it to keep it "on" which is another good thing I didn't even know existed until my 4 year old found out what i gave him
