I underestimated how much I needed a jacket after last year's winter, especially in college. I saw it after seeing it and was shocked, just like the Canadian gooseneck. For me it's a good length (on the petite side) and a bit tight when layering (I don't think you'll need it when wearing this jacket). We've kept warm in the freezing cold of winter and got so many extras while wearing them. The fur piece is removable if you don't like it, but highly recommended as each winter just seems to get colder (climate change!).
