So to begin with, this thing is pretty impressive. Comes pre-installed with Windows 10 Pro, no problem. It has 8GB LPDDR4 @ 2133 RAM so it's great for basic browsing and light gaming. I only bought it to set up a recording booth in it and plug in a condenser mic and that's about all I intend to use it for and it works fine for that. Of course I needed to test this new mini toy a bit, so I tried a few old 3D games and was pleasantly surprised. For such a small thing it holds up quite well. I noticed some strange things when checking all the numbers in Open Hardware Monitor after playing. It turns out that the processor performance is limited by the firmware, i.e. outputs a maximum of 9 watts. It is set to 7 for base speeds and this processor should be drawing more than 10W. If you're not using a GPU, it runs at 2GHz/2.7GHz, but once you enable the GPU, both graphics and core clocks drop quite a bit. If you know what you are doing, you can disable power capping and change power caps in UEFI. If you don't know what it is, don't mess with it. I got it working the way the chip intended, but for the average user it will lack performance a bit. So if that processor was the reason you need this computer, you might want to look at another fanless MeLE computer that's a bit more expensive. but has a larger power supply so it should get everything it needs or maybe just use a stick with the j4105 and save a few bucks. Overall this is a really good product and the limitations shouldn't affect the average user, but don't expect this thing to play cyberpunk. The problem could have been prevented if they simply plugged it into USB Type-C. I have to assume that temperature limits are the cause of the adjustments, but it can withstand a little more than they give you. I recommend it if you want a completely silent PC and don't plan on transcoding or playing on it.
