Other reviewers have commented on the poor quality of this money clip and I agree. Mine does NOT have a Y&G engraving - I guess the manufacturer read reviews that the engraving is amateurish. Mine wasn't scraped but had fingerprints and wet wipe marks on it. But I noticed that the clip on the picture looks high-quality - a gem. I'm not the same pearl black color but more of a shade of stainless steel. It looks like a "paper clip", not jewelry. I've never heard of Y&G so I don't know if they get robbed or if Y&G itself is in some guys basement. Poor quality packaging says Y&G. The design itself is problematic. The dark color clip shape makes it 1/4 inch thick at the hinge (no money). When adding money, increase the thickness of your money by 1/4 inch. The design keeps the money but makes the clip unnecessarily thick. More bulges in the pockets. Look - it keeps the money tight, so it works as advertised for less than $10. But get a money clip(TM) that is thin and secure. I had one for several years until I lost it last week. The money clip is more expensive and nothing special, but it works. Or use a binding clip like I did in my 20s, even if it looks silly.
