Suitable for one-off gentle use or to look at on the shelf. I bought these for my students but wanted to see how durable they would be when actually used as stress balls in the way I intended. Well, after my own kids only played with them at home for short periods of time, they both broke down. One was so insignificant and slow licking that I threw it in the trash; The second, however, was disstartable! Small water droplets flew everywhere with the liquid. And I mean everywhere; my hardwood floors, carpets, under the sofa, even on the wall paneling. It was just awful! It took a few spot cleanings with carpet cleaner to remove the faint color of the dye (pink). It doesn't matter if I need to call the **Poison Control Center** because after reading your vague description of "oh trust us it's safe" but not providing an actual link or evidence to back up that claim I took no chances on it! So, I'm so upset I threw them all away and I'm warning everyone not to buy them!
