Addendum: After using this remote 6 times (2 within 2 weeks) it no longer remotely engages - or turn off. As others say. I reprogrammed the socket but I keep it in place all the time. The red indicator picked up the remote but won't turn on or off. I am deleting this 5 star review and now down to 1 star because this is a bad product. Email the seller to see how well they serve customers! First review: I use this remote control socket on a UV germicidal lamp. I'm turning my garage into a germ and virus kill zone! Whenever I receive packages, mail, groceries and hang my jacket in the affected area for 20-30 baths before taking it home! call me crazy Because exposure to germicidal light is harmful to skin and eyes when it works! The person has to leave the room. (including pets). That means turning the lightbulb on and off before approaching it. This is a great setup to fight Covid-19. The remote goes through walls, I'm standing 25 feet away with the door closed and between two walls, and not even exactly in line, the remote still works fine. I set up a camera in the garage so I can confirm it's working.
