This is not my first set of molded mouthguards. The thickest of the other sentences corresponds to the thinnest of this sentence. The caps themselves are of very good quality. However, quality is of no use if you cannot assemble it properly. The instructions are written in understandable English, but they are not very good. For example, a "shaping stick" is included in the kit, but this stick is not mentioned anywhere in the instructions. The instructions say "boil water" but then "stop boiling" when the temperature reaches 185F (85C). Since water boils at 100°C, this is confusing. The instructions state that the tray should be immersed in hot water for 8-10 seconds and then in ice water for 2-3 seconds. If you didn't read the instructions in full first, you may not have made ice water yet. If these guidelines are followed exactly, the thin mouthguard cannot be shaped. I skipped the ice water setting and it still wasn't enough. I had to hold it in hot water longer. Obviously a thicker mouthguard would have lasted even longer, and it did. If the instructions were correct I would have given it 5 stars. However, it took me too many tries and I am experienced. I think a lot of people who get them might just be badly attracted and uncomfortable with them.
