Review on πŸ“· Top-Notch Sony Alpha ILCE-6400 Body Camera in Sleek Black by Agata Uchman ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Normal product, but wanted more for the money.

The camera is in many ways good, falls in love with itself from the first seconds. Quite flexible in settings, you can take out almost everything by hand without having to climb into the menu, the video recording button can be reassigned (inconvenient by default). I really liked the quality of the photo. After 5DMIII, a higher DD is immediately thrown. otherwise, she can do almost the same thing as mark3, but keeps either close or sometimes inferior. I really liked the Sigma MC11 adapter, Canon's glasses simply sing on Sonya, 135 2.0 and 16-35 2.8 are very fast in AF in the photo. On the video only in the manual. In general, for the photo here everything is very good. But the charms end when you start to delve into the video possibilities. Yes, we shot a short film on this Sonya and in some places the picture would seem to be gorgeous, especially on Sigma 30 1.4. But! The picture on the video crumbles, artifacts appear in the form of spots, banding. This is due to the low bitrate and logarithmic profiles (slog, HLG) They need to shoot in 10 bits and not in 8, otherwise we get color spots. Unfortunately, they are here rather for show, these profiles. Such material is unsuitable for prof. and flexible color correction. More precisely, it is suitable, but within its narrow limits. The Rolling Tent throws fuel on the fire, it's terrible, really terrible, and the jelly is strong here. Profiles are logarithmic: Cine4 s-gamut3 is the best profile ever. HLG Rec 2022. Stretches well, but increases artifacts and spots, tested repeatedly. S-log2 is very noisy in the shadows. Cine 1 is also interesting for its color. It is worth noting the intracam. microphone, when editing a movie, I wanted to leave the sound from the camera, and not from an external microphone. Good ergonomics, but with large hands and fingers it will not be very comfortable. The camera is perfect for family people, vloggers, bloggers, photographers in reserve or for starters and not particularly whimsical about video capabilities. As a photographer, I would keep it as a spare for the brand, this is a great union and everything comes together easily in lightroom. But due to the weak video, I had to part with this camera.

Pros
  • Excellent photo quality Can be configured quite flexibly Logarithmic profiles (aka minus) Compact size and light weight Large selection of optics Sigma 30 1.4 super! Via MC11 (sigma) Canon optics Good RAW dynamic range Convenient swivel screen Great in-camera microphone! Charging from the banks with a bang, no extra. batteries.
Cons
  • Video is not a camera's forte. Rolling tent (full jelly in 4K) Low bitrate only 100MB. (video) Soap in FullHD (1080) 8 bit (no 10bit) No 4K 60 fps Crawls constantly autofocus No headphone jack Menu slows down Extra flash (for many) EVI slow Memory card in battery compartment No Type C Weak battery (but solved with a power bank) Ringing and rattling pieces of iron for the belt
