Can Arc Mouse get any better?

Warning: I just received the mouse and these are my first thoughts. Not all. I have purchased several Microsoft Arc mice (2 - Touch / 1 - Surface Touch) over the years. I carried my original touch mouse to the circuit board through the bottom of the mouse. So it's fair to say that I use a mouse as my daily driver. The new Arc mouse is impressive! On Windows 10 I connected the mouse in a few seconds. The biggest problem is getting used to the buttons, which is not difficult for me. I don't put my fingers on the mouse, and my hand is usually off the mouse most of the time. So it is very easy to distinguish between right and left click. What I like about this mouse is the lack of a scroll button. The loss of haptic feedback is unfortunate, but the problem with the scroll button was that things could easily get caught between the buttons, essentially disabling the scroll button. With my old Surface Touch Arc mouse, my daily routine was to pull it out to slide my fingernail over the edge of the button to get the scroll button to work properly. The new Microsoft Arc mouse has no scroll button. The entire surface can be used for up/down scrolling and (of course) for side scrolling. Another really amazing feature is that the mouse has lost weight. I don't know how they did it, but the mouse is not only thinner, but also lighter than previous Arc mice. and turn off. So when traveling, the mouse fits in your pocket or just in a bag without taking up much space. You don't have to wonder if you have it on or off because when it's flat it's off and when it's curved it's on. What sets this version of the Arc mouse apart from previous iterations is the removal of the scroll button. Instead, the top face of the mouse consists of the left and right mouse buttons, as well as the up/down and side scroll wheels. Based on my initial use, I highly recommend this mouse. This is a simple looking mouse that works great. The biggest problem most users will have is getting used to the buttons, but it's not that difficult as some reviews have shown. I will update this review later with longer use. . Overall I am very impressed with the mouse. Day one: Today I did many different tasks with the device. From gaming to productivity (lots of copy/paste) and overall I haven't had too many issues. However, I came across one thing. scroll sensitivity. The button didn't feel instant when I scrolled up or now. It felt real, but there was a lag. 3 days later: I just downloaded the Microsoft Keyboard and Mouse Center software for Windows 10. I adjusted the DPI and scroll sensitivity and my issues were resolved. Scroll sensitivity is now instantaneous. With the DPI set from 1000 to 1200, screen movement feels 1:1 and is instantaneous with no lost or erratic movement. This will likely affect battery life, but for now this is an amazing mouse! One month: overall I am satisfied with the purchase. I'm having an issue with a program where I need to disable scrolling and this is happening in MS software. 3 year rating: I downgraded my rating. The problem isn't with the mouse, it's with Microsoft's Bluetooth implementation. Although previous versions of Windows 10 had problems with this, the problem is that they have since made it difficult to fix this problem. There is no workaround with my equipment. The problem is that Windows automatically puts the USB hub to sleep after an incredibly short time. In previous versions of Windows 10 you could disable this, but in current versions this is not possible. As a result, the USB hub and the internal BlueTooth hardware go into sleep mode after an incredibly short time. The problem is that the hardware doesn't exit this state efficiently and in some cases it crashes. I was working on an issue with MS and it got to the point where it was working fine, significant changes to their Bluetooth implementation became unusable. I went back to using the old Arc mouse which uses its own button. There are still occasional issues with hardware that doesn't rotate, but the mouse doesn't stop working as often. What's really frustrating is that this doesn't happen with other Bluetooth hardware like it does with the Arc Mouse.

Pros
  • Compatibility: Windows 10 / 8.1 / 8; The host must support Bluetooth 4.0 or higher. (Note: Many Apple and Windows 7 devices do not support Bluetooth 4.0.)
Cons
  • I'll write later
