I bought this specifically to use with a tripod and when I put my phone on it it became very heavy. As long as it's mounted on the back while standing, it works, but I don't expect it to stand on its own when using a heavier phone. We haven't tried an action camera with it yet, but it's a lot lighter than a phone, so we're hoping it performs better. As for using the selfie stick, the phone works flawlessly. There were no instructions but I think by looking at the picture it was clear how everything fell together. This is a man who has never had a selfie stick and has always seen them stacked together. I gave it all the stars because it arrived very quickly and was in great condition when it arrived in the box. It fits many devices as most are not as heavy as my phone. I also have an edge protection sleeve which makes it heavier. When using a selfie stick, you can also use different lengths. And that's why I believe it's strong in everything.
