These blocks are thinner than the acrylic stamp blocks I used before, so they are lighter. The serrated edge makes them comfortable to hold. One side of the block is engraved with grid marks. The grid markings are good but as they are only engraved on one side of the block they can be used to place dies and they can fill up with ink during use. The devices are supplied with a protective cover on both sides, which must be removed before use. One side peels off easily but was etched after the protective layer was applied. This will cut the coating into small squares that are difficult to pick up and remove. I took clear packing tape and applied it to the etched side and was able to remove small pieces of the protective coating by peeling off the packing tape.
