Review on Hi-Res Philips Fidelio L2BO Over-ear Premium Portable Headphones with In-line Mic, Noise Isolation - Black/Orange by Jenna Morocho

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Very good but not for me

Bought Fidelio L2 on a whim as I have a closed headset (Takstar Pro 82) that I love but wanted to try open or semi-open . Also, the great Z reviews inspired me to develop it. The main uses are games with occasional listening to music. The headset looks good and is very well made. Definitely will last if you are not careless. The wearing comfort was ok, since I have small ears and the cups just fit over them. Not much free disk space. Also, after an hour or so, they just felt uncomfortable and had to be corrected quite often. The sound was ok, but the bass was much weaker than I expected after reading the reviews. Just didn't seem as crisp as my Pro 82s. About 1.5 hours later I switched back to the Pro 82 and it was the difference between day and night. The bass was clean and present, but still heated up the smallest details to give its opponents an advantage. For reference, I connect my .y headsets through a Syba Sonic DAC/amp, which I really like. Keep the volume at 50% and you'll hear pure, clean sound every time. As such, the L2 can be a good choice if you primarily use the music it was designed for. It just didn't work for me.

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • Something's wrong
