Go ahead, you won't regret it! There's a million layers of stuff on our bed, and because those ties hold the sheet in place, all the layers underneath stay in place better! (Bottom to top: mattress, mattress topper, memory foam topper, extra cotton sheet for coolness, fitted sheet.) Material slides MUCH less off the sides. Now I don't pull the sheet off and put everything back in its place every day or two. Worth every penny in lost trouble! Bought another set today. The current set will be crossed diagonally from top to bottom, the next set will walk over it, and it's unlikely to move. Tighten them up and they deliver what they promise and more.
