Review on Pura Vida French Replacement Universal by David Tadder

For those like me looking to replace the Kitchen Supreme. The press we have is a fully stainless open handle model B00RH340WM purchased in April 2018. The attractive carafe I received on 04/08/2021 from seller Innav8 LLC measures 7.0 x 3.781W (with calipers). The original was 3.875 so the replacement fits the lid tight enough to be harder to remove, the plunger is harder to depress, and the carafe slides onto the base with no resistance/tension and would fall out if I didn't hold the top of the coffee pour. Perhaps a manufacturing variance given the reviews here and the 3.9 diameter advertised when purchased? FYI, the glass thickness is 0.087. Slightly thinner than the original but strong enough and won't feel brittle when hand washed. Considered a return but it works and without knowing the exact sizes of 1-2 other alternatives on the internet could this be as good as it gets?
