It works out!

Full disclosure, I was originally no smarter than a tape measure and was convinced it wasn't working properly. Two reasons I really wanted this: I'm a knitter and I'm really trying to get rid of the flu pandemic. As a knitter, it is very difficult for me to accurately measure things like my own hand to determine the size of a sweater, etc. As a fiendish dieter, I want to keep track of the inches lost in the process, and that can be difficult to do yourself. (see above ie hand) The trick I found (I haven't found anything, it's painfully obvious if it's you hits, hope it saves you time) is that it DOESN'T matter which sideband is up. With the metric scale at the top, it is easier to see the digital display. Just set the tape measure to imperial (if that's what you want) and it's easy to see. When you do diameter, shoulder, length, etc., pull out the band, hook the end into the band and let it retract all the way, nice and close to your body. The hook makes a little more length and the tape measure adjusts. I compared to an analog (sniffy) tape measure and it fits. You don't have to read the tape, you just have to pay attention to the reading. BUT, even this is not necessary as you can save the last 10 measurements to try not to distort when reading the LED screen. DOESN'T WORK, so no I broke it, the tape measure is fine.

Pros
  • Easy battery replacement, 59" strap length, 1/16" or 1mm spacing.
Cons
  • Not sure
