This large (17.5" x 17.5") mouse pad is the perfect size for work or play. You never have to worry about the mouse slipping off the edge of the mouse pad again, your desk is saved from normal wear and tear (from not using the mouse pad) and your hand rests comfortably on it. do a favor and just buy it (make sure you get the right size because they make even bigger). Some people have complained about the smell, I noticed a faint "new rubber smell" the first day but after that I didn't notice it at all. (Please note that I don't have any pets, not sure if that matters.)
