This is important when driving any distance with a passenger. Installation isn't difficult, but don't be bothered by instructions that say you have to remove the entire trunk trim. All you have to do is pull the trim back a little and loosen the top screw for the speaker box, then slide the brace between the box and the outside of the trunk and retighten the screw. It literally took me more time to assemble the tools than to install them. The mount is very strong and will hold a 32oz Yeti glass perfectly. my daughter loves it
