Review on Chroma Hard Surface Gaming πŸ–±οΈ Mouse Mat - Razer Firefly V2 by Ryan Hill

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Slim but questionable durability

Bought this for my designer work station exactly four months ago and it has been used very sparingly due to the pandemic. It's a large size and I really like the low profile. The lights are fun; but unfortunately cannot be configured on Mac. I was aware of this issue upon purchase; However, to be fair, this is a software compatibility issue that has existed across the product line for some time and should have been fixed by Razor a long time ago. I'm deducting a star for that in the hope that they'll get it at some point. Also questionable is the rather surprising discovery that I've already started to experience a noticeable smoothing of the surface texture. Being a full-time designer and spending a lot of time at my desk, I've had this issue before with hard mouse pads, and with these materials it might be inevitable. However, I was hoping that investing in a "high-end" device would offer more durability. In that regard, given the fact that it hasn't been used very much, the Firefly may have underperformed even more than the usual non-illuminated hard pads that weren't designed for games I've had before. I don't regret the purchase as it integrates well with my setup; However, users should be warned that they cannot own a smoothly textured mouse pad for very long.
