Review on 🌱 Enhance Freshwater Plants with NICREW ClassicLED Plus Planted Aquarium Light – Full Spectrum LED Fish Tank Light by Stephanie Webb

Good light for the price

I bought two NICREW Classic LED PLUS lights 20-24 inch. Build quality seems good for the price and I found it relatively easy to install in the hood/canopy area of my 25 gallon CPR LT4 tank. I now have two of these Nicrews in my 25 gallon aquarium and they seem to be a huge improvement over the CFLs they replaced. I certainly don't miss the big heavy ballast box or the bulky high voltage cables that were needed for CFLs. I have both Nicrew tubes with ramp timers and they run pretty cool even at 100% power. I was concerned that I might need a fan in the hood that turns on both headlights at the same time, but that doesn't seem to be a problem. I didn't see the flickering or pulsing of these lights as reported by other reviewers. It seems that all the LEDs light up and the light gently dims. Overall this is a good light for the price. In fact, the price is so good that with inexpensive ramp timers you can easily fit two of these lights on a tank and get more light and flexibility than single lights, which are much more expensive. I would give this flashlight 5 stars if it weren't for the following: 1.) Nicrew is required to provide PAR tables and a spectral table for their flashlights, especially as the "Plus" version of this flashlight is often on sale. for factory tanks. Everyone recognizes that PAR is a critical lighting indicator for aquariums and Nicrew can easily publish this information on their website. 2.) The cord switch is too close to the light source. It should be much further down the cable so it can be hidden if necessary. Better yet, remove the cord switch altogether as the vast majority of people will be using this light with a timer. Regards, TMQ
