Review on Regal Walnut Turntable Stand by Novogratz by Chris Tobin

Pretty solid table but not without flaws

This is a pretty solid and well made table. The gathering was not without headaches, however. One of the four screws wouldn't thread into the smaller "back" wood panel and I had to turn the insert inside the hole with a screwdriver to line up the insert hole with the screw. When I tried to screw the main wood top/table to the frame, I found that my screwdriver was too big to remove the sharp corner of the frame. I tried using a smaller screwdriver, but it still didn't work. I ended up taking my Leatherman multi tool and using the 90 degree nozzle to screw in the table firmly and securely (see photo). A small ratchet wrench with bit adapter and cross bit will probably work better and make the job a lot easier. By the way, the included instructions say you need to attach the smaller piece of wood to the frame first. However, I recommend bolting on the larger main body first, as I've found that the smaller wooden piece prevents me from easily attaching the main body to the frame with my 90 degree multi-tool (due to the length). . So when installing the larger piece, I removed the smaller wooden piece and then reinstalled it. A ratchet wrench can encounter the same problem if it is too long. Overall, the table is pretty solid, but assembling it was a lot more of a hassle than I expected.

  • Pretty impressive
