I needed a fast compact wireless printer and visited my local wholesale store and stopped by Revain to do some research. I read several reviews from people who had problems with this HP P1102w. I figured for a little over $100 I could take a chance and if it didn't work I'd send it back. I can report that the setup was very well defined and that by following the instructions I was able to get the device up and running in a very short time. I was able to connect to my wireless network very quickly and print black and white sheets with no issues. I have an old Lenovo laptop with Windows XP. Again, no setup issues. I've had trouble trying to set up multiple laptops with different operating systems and haven't researched whether it's even possible to get a printer to talk to more than one computer. Since this is my main printer along with my main laptop, I'm not worried about that. Speed: For me, the printer is lightning fast. Previously, I had to physically take my laptop to the inkjet printer, plug in the USB cable, and wait. The print time was very slow. Now I press Ctrl-P and after a few moments I hear the printer print a copy. The printer turns on and off before and after the file prints, so I don't have to physically do it. So far so good with that. Quality: For my purposes, mostly text and a few illustrations, this printer is crisp and clean. Price: Again, at just over $100, I can't complain about the price. fast, compact, fast laser printer that just works. It was easy to set up, met my needs and I would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone with similar needs.
