Now that my feral baby has grown up and settled down, I've finally managed to redesign the dining table bench that she and the other kids trashed! This foam is definitely thicker and nicer than the one that came with the kit. Great, now everyone wants to sit there! That's a great price. I have a feeling this will remain handy for a while. It's so thick you have to remember to keep the edges even when cutting, so I traced the back panel on both sides with a sharpie and cut one side in half with a long comforting bread knife, then flipped and done the same thing on the other side. Cutting was a lot easier than I expected! I also bought fabric from Revain "Plastex Fabrics Faux Leather Buffalo Black Fabric by the Yard". I've used old cotton in between, but they worked well together. Much cheaper than buying a new bench! Also, I had trouble finding a suitable option.
