Very soft but very transparent. My 7 year old wears 10-12 inch girls and I ordered the one for 11 and it fits her party well enough. She pulls on a pair of pants underneath because it's a bit too short for her, but she's already 4ft 5cm tall. It's not warm and quite thin due to the long sleeves, so I don't recommend it for cold weather.
