I didn't install a thermal pad. Because the drive is installed in metal sleds with a heatsink, and they are in close contact with the metal of the case, temperature, in case of large heating, I will feel it on the piece of iron immediately. Therefore, I decided to drive it first and see the results. I did not see any problems with high heating of the drive (I stuffed a Netac N930E PRO 1 TB into it) in 2 months of operation. Used in the car as a source of movies, music and audio books. Sometimes as a temporary storage warehouse for a DVR. When reading, it seems to me that it doesn’t heat up at all, and when writing files for a long time, the case, to the touch, is just warm, no more. Speeds within reasonable limits of the performance characteristics of the chassis and SSD interfaces. I didn't see throttling. Therefore, bother with the addition of gaskets has not yet become.
