I'm part of an organization of 2,500 retirees who tutor each other on a college campus. Between the hearing loss of most "students" and large classes of 50-100 people, having some kind of microphone is very important. I tried one of the cheap variants, which connects the headset to an amplifier that is worn on the belt. I brought it back because it just didn't produce enough sound to make a difference. I read all the reviews about it and decided I'd give it a try even though it costs more than double. Oh my goodness! People in the class were impressed from the moment I put it in my pocket, and a few people came over later to write the name down so they could buy it. With a wireless headset, you can move freely around the room while the speaker sits on the table in front of you. Everything is always and everywhere everything can be heard! That's wonderful. I'm so glad I made the extra investment! Just make sure you fully charge both the headset and speaker before first use (I didn't charge the headset and it ran out of juice within an hour; now they last a full three hours of my session and then some) . I highly recommend this product!
