Not the best quality, but overall not bad.

I don't know what the restrictions are. Maybe Apple (not) tried. Therefore, I will not blame BOYA without evidence.
Nevertheless. You do not need this item if:
1) You want to play the other party's music/podcast/speech through the phone's speakers when this microphone is connected. Yes, connected via lightning. No sound is heard through the phone's speakers.
2) You do not want to listen to the sound (video with sound) just recorded through this microphone by unplugging the microphone from the phone. Yes, remove the adapter from the lightning port.

That is, the solution seems to be professional, but very limited in terms of usability. I'll be glad to hear that I was wrong)

Sound playback on the phone does not work when a cable is connected to the lightning port. It does not matter whether only the adapter or the microphone is connected through the adapter.
