When I opened this package I saw that it came in one piece - no installation required. It was ready to use immediately. When I set it up I noticed that the height is perfect for me as it puts my 24 inch monitor right in the center of my eyes without forcing me to tilt my head. This will do wonders for my back. Another big plus for this product for me is that it creates another layer of storage above and below the stand itself. I placed a couple of referenced books in a slot under the monitor stand. When I need more desk space, I also place my keyboard in this slot. Very handy to keep my desk clean. The only minor caveat of mine is that I wish the stand itself was thinner to match the aesthetics of my computer hardware, but thickness adds strength so I can't complain.
