I’ve stayed in hotels all my life while traveling but traveling with a baby adds a whole new dimension of wtf. When our baby was just a few months old we did a short one nighter at a nearby hotel to kind of test the waters. I had my trusty travel marpac sound machine in tow (I’ve always needed a fan but switched to marpac sound machines when bubba was born).2 factors I didn’t consider- Hotel rooms are blissfully dark - but it makes moving around the room after baby is asleep a nightmare. You’re trying to be quiet and stealthy and end up stumbling over something if your kiddo is a light sleeper like mine - that’s a no go. He also HATES being put down when it’s pitch black so all our sleep training is out the window.And 2. The lamps are usually the only light in the room so they are bright! We had one middle of the night diaper change and after attempting in the dark - bad idea we switched on the light and then everyone in the room was up for several hours more than we needed to be. Grumpy mom - grumpy dad - grumpy babe = bad combo all around.This time around I was planning to take our usual sound machine but I was also looking for a travel lamp when this popped up. Best purchase ever!The light on this thing turns down SUPER low, enough we can see to get around the room but not enough to keep anyone up. You can set it at any level between. We’ve always used the classic dohm sound but I felt like the pink noise was actually closer to the sound in his room.All in all I highly recommend this! My only change would be to backlight the buttons on top. I did get up in the middle of the night and wanted to dim the light just a bit our first night - I had to pull myPhone over and use the light from my screen to make sure I was changing the light and not the sound. Thanks for another great sound machine!
