With a 33 waist and 43 hips, it's comfortable in the hips but a little loose in the tummy and waist. I bought the large based on the manufacturer's customer rating chart and am wondering if I should have gone for the medium. I have to see what happens when I put them in the water. They are also really high waisted as stated in the description. They go well above my belly button without being too high. They are also long enough to cover my butt but short enough to be cute and flattering. I think I like them and will like them even more if they don't loosen when worn, in which case I'll have to edit my review. Edit March 7, 2020: I loved them so much I reordered from Medium and they fit perfectly and gave the 'control' to the tummy that I wanted. If you have very thick thighs, they may pull in a little because they are not "perky". In any case, I recommend going down the manufacturer's recommendation chart to go down a size for your body type. This is a safe bet as they are 4 way stretch and very pliable.
