Seems to work just needs a lot of tweaking

I see all these reviews everywhere so I wanted to give my own opinion. I rarely play my Kinect, and I really don't want to move my large corner couch every time I want to play. So, like everyone else, I was intrigued by the idea of playing Kinect with less space. First my Kinect was on my TV and I turned on Zoom and turned everything on. and he hardly recognized my hand, let alone me. I played around with it a bit, including resizing it with this emoji, and it helped a bit. When I went in to start the Kinect ID setup, I saw what the problem was: It couldn't see my legs and kept showing that my legs were crossed and in all sorts of weird positions. So I placed my Kinect under my TV, it sits on top of a speaker on my TV stand about 6 inches from the stand and its top edge is in line with the bottom of my TV screen. I calibrated again and it got a little better. I was playing Kinect Adventures and saw in the pictures that it was probably a zoom issue - everything is a different shape and on the outside of each picture you can see a circle showing where the lenses are. BUT, you can clearly see that it sees ALL of you and more when the Kinect is under the TV. So I went back to Kinect ID and -cleared my settings-. I erased all the saved things he had to recognize me. Then he did it again. And everything started to move much better. My wife did the same and experienced the same thing. I think the original way of seeing the world and the new way it looks when it's all saved together confused the system. So what I suggest to other people who are having problems before they bring Zoom back is: put the Kinect under the TV. - Clear your Kinect ID settings and try setting detection again. One more thing: I think 40% less space is conservative. 5 feet from Kinect at Kinect Adventures was scary. So I have to check again. Conclusion from me: As long as I play Kinect, I'm happy with the device after I've fixed the bugs. This will keep me from moving anything other than our coffee table and I love that.
