My basement stair drain goes straight to my sump. During a heavy downpour, any power outage can create a very chaotic situation. I explored several options, but this seemed to be the most difficult and reliable route. Yes, it was also the most expensive alternative. The device arrived very quickly in excellent condition. Very easy to install. The supplied battery cables appear to be of very good quality. A Group 27 deep-cycle battery will cost just over $200 at a local battery depot. The hardest part for me was finding a place to install it. I'll check it out and see how much work time I can get. Right now I'm pretty sure I'm protected from power outages and a flooded basement.
