Stimulating and fun toy

I bought this toy for my autistic son because I thought it would stimulate the senses as well as be creative. He loves it, as does my neurotypical 4 year old. They fight over who gets to play with it so I'm buying my 4 year old another one with a different script for his upcoming birthday. As others have pointed out, on inner play day this is a good alternative to claymation, plasticine, coloring etc. The boys also use their own little plastic figures and vehicles to add variety. I let them use any toy they want as long as it's protected from sand. You also have to watch out for the sand with the plastic mat provided but with a few rules like guys only play with it if we tell them everything is ok how cleaned the kitchen table we had no problem. Quickly sweep the playing surface when they're done, and maybe quickly sweep/vacuum the floor and you're done. If you are the type of person who is bothered by every grain of sand that can slide, then by no means buy this toy. Also, of course I wouldn't recommend this toy for kids who are too young to figure out not to eat sand, throw sand around, etc. Personally, I'd say it's suitable for ages 3-4+. All in all a great toy that I can only recommend.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Lots of stuff
