The case material is like smooth rubber. I don't know what it's called, but it's really smooth. The back of the iPod case (beehive part) is really cool and nice to look at too. The bulges at the corners ensure a pleasant feel. All in all, this case is basically the best I could find and I haven't seen a better one. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was because I use Grado headphones with my iPod and the silicone piece somehow masks the headphone input jack and makes it easier to take it out. But that's a very small problem. I use a headphone amp most of the time, so I'm pretty much getting rid of that little bug. Buy this. This is the best. It looks good and protects your iPod well. What else do you need?!
