I've reviewed several electric remote control boats. I don't recommend this one primarily because of the controller. The good:Two batteries with decent capacity.Powerful motor.Extra prop.Good range. The bad:Controller is overly complicated. No throttle limit.Poor build quality. There are lots of issues with this boat. Some are likely specific to the particular unit I received so I don't take stars off for that but the controller is terrible. It's all show with fake buttons everywhere but it boils down to a bad choice. My boat would barely turn to the right. I had to adjust the right trim as far as it would go to the right. I liked how there was a representation on the screen of how much trim was applied and it mostly represented the impact on the boats steering. That was good but otherwise the screen is of little use and the controls aren't well suited for this boat. If you are looking for an easy to control boat, find one with the trigger/steering wheel controller. The boat I received leaks around the shaft. It's only been in the water twice for less than 5 minutes each time. There's been water sprayed all over the bilge both times. No acrobatics or underwater adventures in either use - just basic steering and speed tests. With time I'll pack the shaft seal and fix this but a new boat should not leak. The boat I received can barely turn to the right. There's evidently limited or no QA on the assembly process. The trim for the speed controls are odd. If you trim the control down it does drop the highest speed setting but not much. I like controllers that have a knob that allows for a quick speed reduction when your 6 year old nephew wants to try. This controller's speed trim actually allows you to bump the low end up to where the boat starts to move by itself, sort of like cruise control. I actually used this in trying to gauge the effectiveness of the steering since controlling the speed slowly and accurately with the left joystick was otherwise impossible. There are two lids for the engine compartment. One the first one seals. They are both difficult to install and will likely frustrate young users. It is possible to improperly install the engine compartment lid to where it won't seal. If that is the case the decorative lid won't lock in place which is a good safety feature.
