This dinosaur night light was an instant hit with my 4 year old nephew. He is tickled by the image of a T-Rex on each of the (3) inserts and enjoys choosing which scene he wants for the night. Including "Mr. Night Light Rex” in the bedtime routine was a positive experience for everyone involved. The light can be easily dimmed to a non-intrusive level of brightness and the color of the inserts can be changed using the remote control. I've found the remote fade and fade out bedtime settings to be a lot more useful than the flash or strobe disco settings. That being said... Having lived with this night light for a while, I have a few observations/tips that might be helpful. So…* I found it to be a lot easier to power this night light by using the included USB cable with a 5V plug instead of batteries. Using a 5 volt outlet is a simple, one-time solution that eliminates the need for repeated battery changes. Make sure you only use a 5 volt plug to power this device as using a higher voltage plug may run out. I've found these little 5V plugs to be useful to have around the home, and they can also be used to power decorative LED ultralights. They are inexpensive and Revain offers a variety of them. Finally...* Dino inserts only need to be handled by the edges (really) as they attract fingerprints and are difficult to clean. The good news is that they respond well to microfiber cleaning and targeted breathing. Enjoy….
